Nollywood actor Kunle Afod and his wife, Desola, have addressed rumours of a marital crisis following a cryptic social media post that sparked speculation online.
Concerns arose after the actor shared a reflective message on Instagram on Friday, February 21, which read:
“Wanting the best for myself. God knows that I have really tried. But since we’re still alive, we keep striving.”
The post triggered claims that the couple may have parted ways, with some online reports alleging that his wife had temporarily moved out of their home.
Fans and colleagues flooded the comment section with prayers and words of encouragement, urging the couple to resolve any perceived issues.
Afod responds
On Monday, February 23, Afod returned to social media to calm tensions, thanking supporters who checked up on him. He explained that the earlier post was shared during a moment of reflection and assured fans that nothing was wrong.
According to him, he is doing fine and there is no marital crisis.
Desola speaks up
Desola also responded separately by sharing an old video of herself and her husband sitting together in their car. In the caption, she reassured followers that all is well in their home.
“I will never disappoint you all, Never Oju oni tiwa lailai,” she wrote.
The couple, who have been married for over a decade, share four sons together — Omiayo, Desire, Imodola and Yiyenitemi Afod.
Their response has brought relief to many fans who had expressed worry over the rumours circulating on social media.
