Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Wizkid has announced a collaborative project with fellow music sensation Asake, confirming that the duo will be releasing a joint extended play (EP) titled ‘Real (Vol. 1)’ later this month.
Wizkid made the disclosure during an interview with Apple Music, where he described the project as a special gift for fans.
“Special announcement, 2025, Mr Money and Big Wiz project called ‘Real’ drops this December for the people,” he said.
The announcement was further reinforced by DJ Tunes, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to tease a track from the project titled ‘Jogodo’.
In the teased song, Asake showcases his signature lyrical style, delivering smooth Yoruba vocals that blend seamlessly with the beat.
“Baby baby jowo o/ Omo Olohun, fine bobo/ Jowo maa je o jabo o/ Maa wo mo she n shako o/ Ibadi to pon yii sure gan/ Mo kan fe je, mi o la bo o,” Asake sings in the snippet.
The announcement has sparked widespread excitement across social media platforms, with fans expressing strong anticipation for the collaboration between two of Afrobeats’ biggest stars.
Although ‘Real (Vol. 1)’ will mark their first joint EP, Wizkid and Asake are no strangers to collaboration. Asake previously featured Wizkid on ‘MMS’, a track from his 2024 album ‘Lungu Boy’.
In 2023, Wizkid also publicly listed Asake among his top five Nigerian singers, describing him as a “superstar.”
With both artists known for hit-making consistency and global influence, expectations are high ahead of the December release.
