Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima will today lead a Federal Government delegation to the burial of the late Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sami, the Kebbi State Government has confirmed.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, disclosed that the Jana’iza prayer will be conducted at the Central Jumaat Mosque in Zuru shortly after the Friday Jumaat prayers.
In preparation for the Vice President’s visit, a state delegation headed by Speaker Muhammad Usman inspected the Zuru Airstrip on Thursday evening to assess arrangements for receiving high-profile dignitaries attending the burial and condolence visits.
The team also visited the Central Mosque, venue for the Jana’iza prayer, in the final leg of the inspection to ensure smooth proceedings for the historic event.
The Emir of Zuru, who passed away earlier this week, was a revered traditional ruler and an influential figure in Kebbi State and beyond.
