Victor Osimhen arrived in Istanbul on Sunday night for scans following an arm injury sustained in Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League clash with Liverpool FC at Anfield last Wednesday.

Osimhen is scheduled for further medical tests on Monday to determine whether surgical intervention will be necessary. According to Turkish outlet Forza Cimbom, the plan is to evaluate the fracture and decide on surgery based on its condition.

The 27-year-old striker could miss three to five months of action after being forced off during the first half of the match following a challenge from Ibrahima Konaté. Galatasaray later confirmed that Osimhen had fractured his right forearm and had it casted.

“In the first half of our away match against Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16 second leg, our player Victor Osimhen took a blow to his arm and completed the first half, but following checks at half-time, he was not played in the second half due to the risk of a fracture in his arm,” Galatasaray said.

“After the match, under the supervision of our medical team, examinations at the hospital revealed a fracture in our player’s right forearm, and it was cast. A decision regarding surgery will be made in the coming days following further evaluations.”

Osimhen had recently appeared in Nigeria with his arm in a cast, making public appearances before returning to Istanbul for further assessment.

Despite Galatasaray’s Champions League exit, the club continues to rely on Osimhen’s attacking prowess in their domestic Super Lig and cup campaigns. This season, he has scored 19 goals and provided seven assists in 29 games, helping the club maintain a four-point lead in the league. In European competition, he had seven goals and three assists in ten matches.

Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük reported that the situation is being closely monitored and an early return is possible depending on how well the fracture heals in the cast. A final decision on surgery is expected next week.
