United Capital Expands reach to Francophone West Africa with Launch of CFA Mutual Funds

UCAMWAL aims to deliver tailored asset management solutions, drawing from United Capital’s strong legacy and portfolio of over ₦2 trillion in assets under management.

United Capital Plc has officially commenced operations of its newly launched subsidiary, United Capital Asset Management West Africa Limited (UCAMWAL), marking a major milestone in its strategic Pan-African expansion.

The launch was celebrated with the unveiling of two CFA franc-denominated mutual funds — the UCAMWAL Bond Fund and the UCAMWAL Diversified Fund — in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. These funds are designed to support wealth creation and financial empowerment across the eight countries within the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) region: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo.

UCAMWAL aims to deliver tailored asset management solutions, drawing from United Capital’s strong legacy and portfolio of over ₦2 trillion in assets under management.

The UCAMWAL Bond Fund offers low-risk investment in fixed income and money market instruments, ideal for conservative investors focused on capital preservation and steady returns.

While the UCAMWAL Diversified Fund provides a balanced approach through a mix of equities, money markets, and fixed income assets — suited for those seeking long-term growth and income diversification.

United Capital’s Group CEO, Peter Ashade emphasized the broader mission:

“This launch marks the beginning of a legacy in wealth creation and financial empowerment across Francophone West Africa. We are committed to fostering cross-border investment and supporting Africa-driven prosperity.”

Ejikeme Okoli, Director of Africa Operations, added:

‘’Our expansion is rooted in collaboration. We’re building a Pan-African institution that delivers real value by harnessing local insights and promoting inclusive growth.”

Also speaking at the launch, Labas Bamba, Managing Director of UCAMWAL, noted:

‘’These funds are designed with our investors in mind — reflecting global standards while rooted in local understanding. Every investor’s journey is different, and we’re here to support each one.”

With licenses from the Financial Markets Authority of WAEMU (AMF-UMOA), UCAMWAL will operate across the region, offering mutual funds, portfolio management, and advisory services.
