Bola Tinubu on Thursday night met with a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Teslim Folarin, at his private residence in Ikoyi.
Folarin, who was the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State during the 2023 general election, confirmed the meeting in a post shared on his official social media accounts.
The engagement comes amid increasing speculation over the party’s direction as political calculations begin ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
There have been reports suggesting that another APC leader, Sharafadeen Alli, is also being considered as a potential governorship candidate. Alli had earlier held a separate meeting with the President.
Although details of Thursday’s discussion were not publicly disclosed, party insiders said the consultations may be linked to ongoing strategic talks within the APC regarding its political outlook in Oyo State.
Folarin remains a prominent figure within the party, having previously represented Oyo Central in the Senate and contested the 2023 governorship election under the APC platform.
Political observers say the series of meetings involving party stakeholders could signal early groundwork as the APC prepares for future electoral contests in the state.
