President Bola Tinubu on Friday departed Abuja for a two-nation trip to Japan and Brazil, with a brief stopover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
According to presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will participate in the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama, Japan, from August 20 to 22.
The president is scheduled to attend plenary sessions focused on Africa’s development and hold bilateral meetings with Japanese leaders. He will also engage with chief executive officers of Japanese companies already investing in Nigeria.
Following TICAD9, Tinubu will travel to Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, for a two-day state visit from August 24 to 25 at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
During his time in Brazil, Tinubu will meet with his host for high-level discussions and participate in a business forum aimed at attracting Brazilian investment into Nigeria.
The president is accompanied by ministers, senior government officials, and special advisers on the trip.
