President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller-General (DCG) Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective 14th August 2025.
The announcement was made through a statement issued by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) and signed by its Secretary, Abdulmalik Jibrin.
DCG Adeyemi’s appointment follows the upcoming retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who is set to leave office on 1st August 2025 upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.
Adeyemi, who began his career at the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, rose through the ranks to become DCG in charge of Human Resources at the Service Headquarters.
According to the CDCFIB, “DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi brings a wealth of experience to his new role,” having completed all required in-service and command training programs, including several courses both locally and internationally.
The newly appointed Controller-General is a fellow of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
The Board also commended the outgoing Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, for his dedication and numerous initiatives that advanced the Federal Fire Service during his tenure.
