Surest Firm Foundation Academy, a non-profit organization, has initiated a program aimed at helping children overcome the effects of trauma-induced Imposter Syndrome, allowing them to realize their full potential from an early age. The call was made by Mrs. Adebimpe Adeniyi, the convener of the group, during her 50th birthday celebration and a bimonthly awareness and transformational children’s program held at Lagbasa, Lagos, with the theme “Mingle to Stand, Confidence.”

The organization is dedicated to assisting traumatized and vulnerable children in finding wholeness and navigating life more easily, ultimately contributing positively to society. Mrs. Adeniyi highlighted the prevalence of trauma among children, emphasizing its detrimental impact on their physical, mental, and social well-being.

She further explained that many children experience Imposter Syndrome, making it difficult for them to relate to others due to internal and external influences. Mrs. Adeniyi stressed the importance of instilling confidence in children, equipping them with the necessary tools and skills for self-awareness and interpersonal relationships.

The bimonthly awareness and transformational program, focusing on children and parents, seeks to address the needs of vulnerable and traumatized children aged 1 to 20 years, with parents as secondary participants.

Mrs. Adeniyi shared her personal journey of overcoming trauma-induced obstacles, emphasizing the foundation’s vision of raising generations that defy odds and become agents of positive change. She outlined the organization’s mission of helping children overcome their past pain, instilling a Growth Mindset and fostering the right values.

The core values of the foundation include service, compassion, honesty, empathy, discipline, uniqueness, leadership, and excellence. As part of their commitment to service, the group and children participated in a community cleaning activity in Lagbasa, demonstrating their dedication to humanity.

The event also featured film screenings, games, and refreshments, providing a holistic experience for attendees. The initiative by Surest Firm Foundation Academy reflects a proactive approach to addressing the challenges faced by children, paving the way for a brighter future filled with confidence, resilience, and growth.
