Snoop Dogg Joins Swansea City Ownership Group After Surprise Kit Launch Appearance

“My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City,” Snoop Dogg said via the club's official website.

In an unexpected but headline-grabbing move, American rap icon Snoop Dogg has officially joined the ownership group of Swansea City AFC, following a surprise appearance as the club’s kit model during the 2025–26 home strip launch last weekend.

The 53-year-old superstar, born Calvin Broadus, was announced by the Welsh club on Sunday as the latest addition to its evolving leadership structure.

He now joins Real Madrid and Croatia legend Luka Modric, who also acquired a stake in the club earlier this year after its takeover by American investors Brett Cravatt and Jason Cohen in November 2024.

“My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City,” Snoop Dogg said via the club’s official website.

“This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me. I’m proud to be part of Swansea City.”

Snoop Dogg, who boasts over 100 million followers across social media, is expected to play a key role in boosting the club’s global brand, helping generate revenue that complies with football’s profit and sustainability rules.

Club owners Cravatt and Cohen described Snoop’s arrival as “the next episode” in Swansea’s story — a reference to one of the rapper’s iconic tracks — and said his involvement was the result of a mutual connection.

“Snoop’s colossal global fanbase and audience will certainly help us boost the club’s profile,” the owners said.
“He has made clear throughout this process just how excited he is at the prospect of joining the club.”

To mark the moment, a mural of Snoop Dogg has been unveiled in the West Stand of the Swansea.com Stadium, symbolising his new role as part of the club’s ownership team.

Swansea also confirmed that Cravatt and Cohen are actively engaged with the team’s preparations, having joined the squad at their pre-season training camp in Spain this week.

With the club gearing up for the new season, supporters are eager to see how this high-profile partnership will influence both on-field performance and international fan engagement.
