Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is proudly sponsoring the Skate Lagos athletes to participate in the upcoming International Skate-a-Thon in Calabar 2025, where they will represent the state on a global platform.

The athletes are set to depart for Calabar on Tuesday, flying with Air Peace ahead of their opening games on Wednesday.
While Skate Lagos is not officially recognized as one of the 44 sports associations in the state, the governor’s decision to support the team has earned widespread commendation for his inclusive and forward-thinking approach to sports development. Hon Adebanji Atewogboye, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Grassroots Sports Development, played a pivotal role in recommending Skate Lagos for sponsorship, further solidifying the governor’s commitment to grassroots sports.
