The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to partnering with faith-based organisations, including the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas, for interventions in education, health, and other social services that benefit residents of the state.
Sanwo-Olu made the pledge on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, led by its President, Prince Adeniji Kazeem (SAN), at the Lagos House, Marina.
Congratulating Prince Kazeem, a former Lagos State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, on his emergence as President of the Society, the Governor expressed confidence in his leadership and pledged full government support to ensure a successful tenure.
“We commend the interventions by Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas over the years. This is a Society that has changed lives and made positive impacts, especially in the educational sector,” Sanwo-Olu said. “We also appreciate the Society’s roles in healthcare, security advocacy, and public enlightenment.”
Earlier, Prince Adeniji Kazeem (SAN) reaffirmed the Society’s commitment to supporting the Lagos State Government in advancing education, healthcare, and social welfare. He described the engagement with the Governor as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between government and faith-based institutions in promoting inclusive development and moral rejuvenation.
“For over a century, Ansar-Ud-Deen has remained steadfast in promoting quality education, moral discipline, and community service in line with Islamic values,” Kazeem said. “Our Society stands as a dependable partner in achieving a Greater Lagos that is inclusive, prosperous, and peaceful.”
He also called for stronger partnerships between government and faith-based organisations to enhance social impact through joint programmes in education, health, and welfare, promote interfaith collaboration for peace and unity, and foster capacity building for religious leaders in governance and project management.
