Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday inaugurated a grassroots movement aimed at promoting the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across all communities in Lagos.

The Governor appointed 20 coordinators for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, tasking them with driving the initiative in their respective Local Government Areas. The Governor’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, will oversee the activities of the coordinators.

The movement is designed as a grassroots mobilisation effort to enlighten residents about the successes of the Tinubu administration, operating under a national framework led by Imo State Governor and Progressives Governors’ Forum chairman, Hope Uzodimma.

The inauguration ceremony, held at 10 Degrees Event Centre, Oregun, Ikeja, drew a wide array of All Progressives Congress (APC) members, including Governance Advisory Council leaders, party executives, cabinet members, Lagos House of Assembly members, traditional rulers, traders’ unions, and youth groups.

Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of the initiative, saying, “This project is an activation of our resolution and commitment to the belief we hold dear. It is an activation of like minds who believe in the message of Renewed Hope of our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Today, we appoint Local Government coordinators for Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Lagos; they have been chosen to populate the achievements of the Tinubu administration.”

He added that the initiative is not a campaign, but a platform to raise awareness about national achievements, stating that the ambassadors would engage residents in their communities, speaking in local languages to communicate the administration’s successes.

Sanwo-Olu highlighted several achievements under Tinubu’s leadership, including infrastructure development such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Sokoto-Badagry Highway, economic reforms stabilizing the forex market, reduced debt burden, improved worker welfare, and declining inflation and food prices.

Mr. Ayinde clarified that the movement focuses on deep engagement, public sensitization, and fostering active participation in governance. Coordinators were urged to serve as a link between government policies and citizens, disseminating information in markets, campuses, and neighborhoods.

To support their work, Governor Sanwo-Olu handed over 20 new buses to the coordinators to enhance mobility and ensure effective coordination of grassroots activities.
