Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday led a cabinet delegation to inspect two major projects in Lagos’ Central Business District (CBD) — the Multi-Agency Office Complex and the Lagos Geographic Information Service (LAGIS) Building. The developments, situated near the State Government Secretariat in Alausa, are designed to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency across critical state agencies.
The Multi-Agency Complex, a multi-storey office building, is aimed at centralising the operations of key state agencies to reduce congestion at the Secretariat. The complex will feature office spaces, relaxation facilities, a multi-level car park accommodating over 600 vehicles, and advanced safety features. Governor Sanwo-Olu described the project as “practically completed,” noting that only finishing work on the ground floor and setbacks remains. The contractor is expected to complete a final cleanup within the next two weeks ahead of commissioning.
The LAGIS Building, a five-floor office complex, is intended to serve as a one-stop hub for geospatial mapping, urban planning, and land administration services. While construction is ongoing, the Governor highlighted that the building is a “unique masterpiece” and emphasized the need for rapid progress over the next three weeks to reach completion.
Governor Sanwo-Olu announced that the formal opening of both buildings will be symbolic, with plans for Bola Ahmed Tinubu to commission them during a planned presidential visit to Lagos, the date of which is yet to be confirmed.
“The space in which services are being rendered is critical to us as a government. That is why we are creating better working environment for our staff,” Sanwo-Olu said, adding that improved ambience for civil servants will lead to better turnaround time and overall service delivery to Lagos residents.
