Former Oyo State Governor, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has been confirmed as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, with his coronation scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025.
Governor Seyi Makinde formally approved his nomination, paving the way for the traditional enthronement of the new Olubadan.
A delegation from the state government met with Oba Ladoja and other members of the Olubadan-in-Council on Wednesday at his Bodija residence to finalize arrangements.
The media aide to the Olubadan-designate, Adeola Oloko, confirmed the development to newsmen, stating that the historic coronation ceremony would take place at the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The enthronement of Oba Ladoja, a highly respected statesman and cultural icon, is expected to draw dignitaries, traditional rulers, political leaders, and indigenes of Ibadanland from across Nigeria and beyond.
