President Bola Tinubu will embark on a one-day official visit to Kebbi State on Saturday to inaugurate projects executed by Governor Nasir Idris.
According to Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President will also serve as the special guest of honour at the 61st edition of the 2026 Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival. The festival, staged by the riverside of the historic Matan Fada, is recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and is one of Africa’s most celebrated cultural events.
First held in 1934 as a peace initiative between the Sokoto Caliphate and the Kebbi Kingdom, the festival has grown into a major platform celebrating tradition, unity, and the end of the farming season, attracting communities from across Nigeria and beyond.
This will be President Tinubu’s inaugural visit to Kebbi State, marking a key engagement in his ongoing outreach to Nigerian states.
