President Bola Ahmed Tinubu used the occasion of his 74th birthday to thank Nigerians for their messages, prayers, and support while reaffirming his commitment to national development and unity.
In a special birthday message, President Tinubu expressed gratitude to citizens for their patriotism and solidarity, noting the contributions of those who took time to convey birthday wishes through newspapers, radio, and television. He also extended thanks to his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their kind words.
Consistent with his tradition of aligning his celebrations with the mood of the nation, President Tinubu said he observed the day in a low-key manner. Reflecting on his administration’s reforms, he acknowledged the challenges faced and highlighted that the progress achieved so far is a collective effort, not solely the result of his leadership.
“Despite the temporary setback caused by the ongoing Middle East crisis, our sacrifices have not been in vain, as we can see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel,” the President said.
Looking ahead to the third anniversary of his administration, President Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to confronting current challenges and building a stronger, more prosperous, and resilient Nigeria. “With your continued support, we shall overcome,” he said.
