Tinubu praises Fashola for her significant contributions to education, health, and women’s empowerment in Lagos.

President Bola Tinubu has sent heartfelt congratulations to Dame Emmanuella Fashola, the former First Lady of Lagos State, as she celebrates her 60th birthday on April 6. The wife of Babatunde Fashola, former Governor of Lagos State, is widely recognized for her dedicated work in education management, as well as her advocacy for women’s health and socio-economic issues.

In a statement released by the President’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu commended Dame Fashola for her impactful role in public health awareness, particularly in sensitizing the public on issues affecting women and children. He also praised her unwavering support for her husband, noting that her contributions were invaluable during his time as Governor of Lagos and Minister of Works and Housing.

“Dame Fashola is a pillar of support for her family and a role model for unity and understanding. Her marriage to Babatunde Fashola, which is characterized by religious tolerance, is a testament to the power of mutual respect and the values that contribute to nation-building,” said Tinubu.

The President further acknowledged Fashola’s leadership of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), where she spearheaded several initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of women.
