The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially released the timetable for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course, set to commence on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement on Wednesday, signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the scheme noted that the 21-day exercise will start with the reception and registration of Prospective Corps Members from April 22 to April 24, 2026, ending at midnight on Friday, April 24.
The NYSC added that the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II service year is scheduled for Friday, April 24, 2026, with the orientation program concluding on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Prospective corps members have been advised to prioritise safety while travelling to camps. The scheme warned against night journeys, urging candidates to pause travel by 6:00 pm and spend the night at any available Corps Members’ Lodge, military formation, police station, or the palace of a traditional ruler, before resuming the next morning.
NYSC also encouraged all corps members to prepare necessary documents and personal information in advance to facilitate a smooth registration process.
This announcement follows the scheme’s earlier update that supplementary online registration for recently uploaded prospective corps members will hold from April 9 to April 11, 2026. The exercise is intended for candidates whose details were uploaded to the NYSC portal but who have yet to complete registration.
The NYSC concluded by wishing all prospective corps members safe travels to their respective orientation camps across the country.
