The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has issued a weather forecast predicting the likelihood of dust haze and thunderstorms across the nation from Monday to Wednesday. The agency’s Weather Outlook report, released on Monday, outlined the following projections:
Monday: Dust haze with a visibility range of 1km to 3km and localized visibility of less than or equal to 1,000 meters was expected in the northern region. Thunderstorms were also anticipated, particularly in parts of Taraba State.
In the North Central states, visibility values were predicted to range between 2km to 5km due to suspended dust. Thunderstorms were expected in various regions, including the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi, Kwara, Plateau, and Benue states during the afternoon and evening.
In the southern states, thunderstorms were expected in the morning hours.
The report highlighted the prospects of thunderstorms over parts of Taraba State later in the day, with thunderstorms also expected over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, and Niger states in the morning. Visibility values were expected to be between 2km to 5km over the North Central states due to suspended dust.
