The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has unveiled a Pre-Enrolment Portal to enhance efficiency and improve user experience in the National Identification Number (NIN) registration process.
The new digital platform enables prospective applicants, both within Nigeria and abroad, to capture and submit their biodata online before visiting enrolment centres for biometric capture.
According to NIMC Spokesperson Kayode Adegoke, the initiative is designed to reduce congestion and long waiting times at enrolment centres nationwide. The portal forms part of NIMC’s broader strategy to deploy technology-driven solutions that streamline public service delivery.
Key features of the Pre-Enrolment Portal include online capture and management of applicants’ biodata, appointment scheduling to minimise overcrowding, improved data accuracy, secure handling of personal information, and seamless upload of required supporting documents.
The Commission encouraged all prospective NIN applicants to utilise the portal for a faster and more convenient registration experience, reinforcing its commitment to building a reliable digital identity ecosystem to support national development.
“The introduction of the portal reflects the unwavering commitment of the DG/CEO Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote to strengthen institutional performance through technology-driven solutions, in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritizes efficient public service delivery, digital transformation, and inclusive national development,” the statement added.
