Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that Nigeria will defend their Unity Cup crown against India, Jamaica, and Zimbabwe in this summer’s four-nation tournament.
The 2026 edition of the Unity Cup, last won by Nigeria in 2025, will be hosted at The Valley stadium in South London from May 26 to 30. Coach Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles are slated to face Zimbabwe in a high-stakes African clash on May 26, a rematch of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification encounters.
On the same day, India will take on Jamaica in the second semi-final, with winners set to clash in the final on May 30. Organizers promise the tournament will deliver “the same electric mix of entertainment and culture that defined the 2025 event.”
Ibrahim Gusau, president of the NFF, described the Unity Cup as “another opportunity to see the Super Eagles compete at a highly exciting and entertaining event. As perennial champions, the Super Eagles will look to retain their title, even as they will not underrate India, Jamaica, or Zimbabwe.”
The tournament comes as national teams intensify preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which Nigeria did not qualify for after losing out to DR Congo in the African play-offs. At the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, the Super Eagles finished third, leaving the tournament as one of the medallists.
