The Zenith Bank NBBF Women’s League Phase Two began on Tuesday in Jos, Plateau State, delivering thrilling basketball action and a major upset on day one.
All eyes were on Air Warriors, leaders of the Savannah Conference after Phase One, but they fell to Nigeria Customs in a tense clash that ended 69-64. The game, filled with end-to-end drama, saw Customs strengthen their bid for a top-four spot in the conference.
In other Savannah Conference results, Royal Aces defeated Plateau Rocks 58-46. The Rocks started strong, narrowly losing the first quarter 13-12 and keeping the second close at 12-16. However, they struggled in the third quarter (11-18), before holding Royal Aces to an 11-11 draw in the final quarter.
Elsewhere, Titans dominated Ham Warriors 70-40, showing their strength early in the competition.

In the Atlantic Conference, First Bank continued their push to reclaim the league title by beating Bayelsa Blue Whales 57-39. The Bankers, who impressed in Phase One, have their sights set on the Lagos finals scheduled for September 14–18.
On Sunday, defending champions MFM edged Dolphins 49-48 in a nail-biting encounter, keeping their hopes alive in the tightly contested conference.
With five teams in the Atlantic Conference, only one team will miss out on the Lagos finals, raising the stakes as the competition progresses.
