Presenting the award in Lagos, NFVCB Executive Director, Shaibu Husseini, hailed the occasion as a celebration of excellence, creativity, and the remarkable strides of Nigeria’s film industry. He extended the warm regards of the Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, who was unavoidably absent due to official duties in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Husseini emphasised that Oversabi Auntie achieved an extraordinary milestone, grossing over ₦1.6 billion—a personal triumph for the actress and a testament to Nollywood’s growing global potential. “This accomplishment is not only a personal triumph but a testament to the growing strength, resilience, and global potential of Nollywood,” he said.

The Executive Director also acknowledged the presence of Olori Temitope Ogunwusi, who served as Mother of the Day, adding dignity and honour to the event. Industry guilds and professional associations were commended for their collaboration in advancing the sector.

In a goodwill message, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Sanusi Abubakar Yakubu, praised Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi as a trailblazer redefining Nollywood. He noted that the film’s ₦1.6 billion box office performance signals a shift toward a commercially astute, globally competitive Nigerian film industry.

Olori Temitope Ogunwusi highlighted the film’s strong message on parenting and the importance of closer relationships between parents and children, while Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi expressed gratitude to the NFVCB and attendees for recognising her milestone achievement.

The event drew key stakeholders from across Nigeria’s creative industry, reinforcing cinema’s role as a driver of cultural expression and economic growth in the country.
