NECO Debunks Online Recruitment Claim, Warns Public Against Fraud

Members of the public have been urged to disregard the fraudulent report and avoid falling victim to recruitment scams.

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has denied an online report claiming that the organization is recruiting new staff, describing the publication as “fake news.”

In a statement issued in Minna on Wednesday, the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Mallam Azeez Sani, said the alleged recruitment notice was a fabrication by fraudsters seeking to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

“The attention of the National Examinations Council (NECO) has been drawn to an online publication purporting that the Council is planning to recruit new staff,” the statement read. “The Council hereby strongly states that the publication is fake as NECO has no intention to recruit new staff for now.”

NECO emphasized that under the leadership of its Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the Council remains committed to due process and will only conduct recruitment when the Federal Government grants approval.

Members of the public have been urged to disregard the fraudulent report and avoid falling victim to recruitment scams.
