Miss Jamaica, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, was rushed to hospital on Wednesday after falling off the stage during the Miss Universe preliminary evening gown round in Thailand.
A video that quickly went viral on social media captured the moment Henry, dressed in a long orange gown, stumbled and fell off the stage while walking across it. The footage shows her being transported on a stretcher to the hospital.
In a statement confirming the incident, the Miss Universe Organisation said Henry is currently receiving medical attention at Paolo Rangsit Hospital in Thailand.
Miss Universe President Raúl Rocha Cantú, who visited the hospital, provided an update:
“Henry sustained minor wounds. She is receiving treatment at a hospital in Bangkok, where she will remain under observation overnight.”
The pageant organisers assured fans and the public that Henry’s condition is stable and she is expected to recover fully.
