The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Ambassador of Mexico to Nigeria, Alfredo Miranda-Ortiz, have highlighted the need to deepen bilateral ties between Lagos and Mexico to boost economic prosperity and mutual benefits.

The discussions took place during a courtesy visit by the Mexican delegation, led by Ambassador Miranda-Ortiz, to Lagos House, Ikeja on Monday.

Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated his administration’s commitment to creating a conducive business and tourism environment in Lagos State. He emphasized that the THEMES+ developmental agenda continues to make Lagos hospitable, habitable, and attractive to investors.

The governor also welcomed the opening of an Honorary Consulate of Mexico in Lagos, led by Abiodun Otunola, describing it as a key step in strengthening relationships between the two countries.

Speaking earlier, Ambassador Miranda-Ortiz praised Lagos for its economic growth, saying the state has demonstrated its capacity to expand economic relationships. He noted that Mexico, with its 53 Free Trade Markets, is well-positioned to collaborate with Lagos, the economic hub of Nigeria, to further strengthen both economies.
