The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, CON, FCIArb (UK), today visited Sokoto State to commission key infrastructure projects at the Sadiq Abubakar III International Airport.
As part of his working visit, the Minister officially commissioned the newly constructed access road to the airport and laid the foundation stone for a new protocol lounge, reinforcing the Federal Government’s commitment to modernising aviation facilities across the country.
The Minister was received by the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, in an event that also marked the Governor’s second anniversary in office.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the projects, Keyamo noted that the Sadiq Abubakar III International Airport serves as a vital gateway not only to Sokoto State but to the entire North-West region.
“These infrastructure upgrades are crucial for enhancing passenger experience and facilitating regional development,” he stated.
The Minister was accompanied by the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, alongside top directors from the Authority.
Keyamo’s visit underscores the Federal Government’s continued investment in aviation as a driver of economic growth, regional integration, and national development.
