Social media personality, Amodu Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has publicly appealed to the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, for forgiveness following an incident involving her partner, Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, widely known as Peller.
The plea comes after widespread outrage over an unauthorised visit to the Benin Royal Palace, which the Benin Traditional Council deemed a breach of palace norms and traditions.
Jarvis made the appeal during a live session on social media, expressing deep regret over the incident and seeking mercy on behalf of her partner. She also shared her personal concerns, emphasising the potential impact on her marriage plans.
“I don’t want to be single to stupor… please forgive him. I want to get married; I want my bride price paid without fear. Please have mercy on us,” she said.
The controversy traces back to March 6, 2026, when Peller reportedly gained unauthorised access to the royal palace. In response, the Benin Traditional Council summoned Peller and instructed him to submit a formal written apology to the palace authorities.
The council also imposed disciplinary measures on some palace officials involved in the breach. A chief was suspended, while other members of the royal household were punished for facilitating unauthorised access.
Palace administrators reaffirmed their commitment to preserving tradition and maintaining order within the esteemed institution, underscoring that such measures are essential to protect the integrity of the Benin Royal Palace.
