Jagaban Borgu, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, swept the votes in Borgu land, and topped the Presidential scale in Niger state with 375, 183 votes, leaving the runner up Atiku Abubakar with 284, 898 votes.
Breakdown of votes to Jagaban Borgu shows the two voting areas which made up the powerful ancient Kingdom of Borgu, namely, Borgu local government and Borgu/ Agwara local government, garnered 22, 486 for APC, against PDP 9646 and Labour Party 6, 140 for the Presidential election results.
At the Borgu/ Agwara local government, the Jagaban took hold of 30, 145 of total votes cast , while PDP managed 15, 695, a difference of about 14, 450.
The Jagaban Borgu fever also gave APC the senatorial seat with 28, 039 and the House of Representatives seat with 28, 272.
Professor clement Alawa, vice chancellor, University of Abuja presented the Niger state results.
It was jubilation galore in Borgu land as the people and elders of Borgu, congratulated themselves for delivering effectively for their frontline traditional title holder and Presidential candidate of APC.
A top political source in Borgu Emirate Council who did not want his name in print, told our correspondent that Borgu land, has shown through the massive votes for Ahmed Bola Tinubu how he is loved and revered by the kingdom and the people.
” our votes return from the presidency , senate to the House of Representatives, remains the highest of all the votes garnered for APC and Jagaban Borgu in Niger state” he explained further.
