She was born into an academic family at the University of Ibadan. She earned a BA in Classical Studies in 1988. Later, she pursued specialized training at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology. Madam Sholly also gained international exposure. She attended conferences in Europe, America, the Middle East, and Africa. Her global experience enriched her journalism and broadened her perspective. She served actively in the League of Airports and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC), where her leadership roles included Assistant Secretary, Secretary, and Vice Chairman. These positions allowed her to influence aviation reporting standards in Nigeria.
