Hilda Baci Receives Second Guinness World Record Plaque for World’s Largest Pot of Jollof Rice

Sharing photos of her plaques on social media, Hilda expressed gratitude and joy, calling her journey one of faith, fire, and history.

Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has officially received her second Guinness World Record plaque, recognising her achievement in cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

According to Guinness World Records, the feat involved preparing 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice during a Lagos cookout in September, marking another remarkable milestone for the Nigerian culinary star.

This new honour comes a year and a few months after Hilda earned her first record in May 2023, when she completed a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, earning global acclaim and inspiring millions across Africa and beyond.

With two official world titles to her name, Hilda Baci becomes Nigeria’s first and most decorated chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.

Every portion of the record-breaking jollof rice was distributed to event guests and charitable organisations, meeting Guinness’ strict verification standards.

Sharing photos of her plaques on social media, Hilda expressed gratitude and joy, calling her journey one of faith, fire, and history.

“Your plaques are finally here!!! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria,” she wrote.

“Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves — a story that reached over 5 billion people and reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose. I’m a two-time world record holder — someone pinch me!”

Quoting Isaiah 61:7, Hilda added:

“A two-time Guinness World Record holder! Instead of your shame, you will receive a double portion… everlasting joy will be yours.”

Her accomplishment continues to position Nigeria at the forefront of global culinary excellence, celebrating creativity, resilience, and national pride.
