Green Africa Airlines has acquired its second owned aircraft, an ATR 72-600 with registration mark 5N-GAC, the airline announced.
The acquisition was partially funded through a naira debt facility provided by Access Bank. Babawande Afolabi, Chief Executive Officer of Green Africa, said the addition strengthens the airline’s foundation for growth and its mission to provide safe, reliable, and affordable air travel across Nigeria and the continent.
“We are delighted to welcome our second owned aircraft (5N-GAC) to the fleet. The addition of 5N-GAC will help strengthen a sustainable foundation for Green Africa to grow and deliver on its promise to provide safe, reliable, and affordable air travel to more customers across Nigeria and the continent,” Afolabi said.
He noted that the new aircraft will enhance the airline’s capacity to serve existing routes and enable it to connect more destinations within Nigeria, expand along the West African seaboard, and contribute to broader continental economic development.
Meanwhile, Access Bank’s Managing Director, Roosevelt Ogbonna, highlighted the Bank’s confidence in Green Africa’s vision and potential to transform the aviation sector.
“At Access Bank, we are committed to empowering businesses that drive economic progress and create long-term value for society. Our partnership with Green Africa reflects our confidence in visionary enterprises that are transforming critical sectors of the economy,” Ogbonna said.
The ATR 72-600 (5N-GAC) is expected to enter service shortly following customary regulatory approvals.
