Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has signed four landmark bills into law, officially establishing new development-focused agencies aimed at driving innovation, job creation, and improved public service delivery across the state.
The development was confirmed in a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The newly signed laws pave the way for the creation of the Kano State Social Protection Agency (KASPA), Kano State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KASIAA), Kano State Information and Communication Technologies Development Agency (KASITDA), and the Kano State Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (KASMEDA).
These agencies are expected to support economic growth, regulate advertising standards, promote digital innovation, and expand social welfare programs.
Governor Yusuf described the move as a major step toward achieving his administration’s vision of a more inclusive and economically vibrant Kano.
“Our mission is to lay a solid foundation for a greater Kano. These laws go beyond policy — they are key instruments of transformation that will help drive our development agenda,” he stated.
The Governor emphasized the critical roles these agencies will play in enhancing entrepreneurship, attracting investment, and ensuring the smooth delivery of government services.
He also warned that violations of the provisions within the newly established laws will attract strict sanctions.
The signing of these bills marks a new chapter in Kano’s governance, with clear focus on modernization, support for small businesses, digital advancement, and community protection.
