Gary Neville Backs Arsenal to Win Premier League Title

The former Manchester United defender says Arsenal’s consistency gives them the edge over Liverpool and Manchester City this season.

Former Manchester United star and football pundit Gary Neville has tipped Arsenal as the favourites to win the Premier League title this season.

Speaking on Sky Sports on Monday, Neville said he believes Mikel Arteta’s side have shown enough consistency and resilience to go all the way, even without hitting the high points totals seen in recent years.

Following their 1–0 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday, Arsenal sit four points clear at the top of the Premier League table. They are seven points ahead of reigning champions Liverpool and six points clear of Manchester City, strengthening their position as title contenders.

“This has got to be them, hasn’t it? This has got to be their year,” Neville said on his podcast.

“This is the fourth season in a row I’ve backed them to win the league. They’re not much better than before, but they are consistent — and that’s what matters this season.

“They don’t need 100 points or even 90 to win the league. A total in the mid or high 80s should be enough, and they can definitely achieve that.”

Arsenal’s steady performances and improved defensive record have been central to their campaign, while rivals Manchester City suffered a 1–0 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday, further boosting Arsenal’s title hopes.

If Arteta’s men maintain their current form, they could deliver the club’s first Premier League trophy since 2004, when Arsène Wenger’s “Invincibles” went an entire season unbeaten.
