FG, Nigerian Air Force Forge Stronger Ties to Boost Aviation Security and Growth

Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo champions collaboration for safer skies and a thriving Aviation ecosystem at African Air Forces Forum.

The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s strong commitment to fostering a secure and sustainable aviation ecosystem through continued collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force.

This was made known in a statement signed by Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Honourable Minister, following Keyamo’s remarks at the 4th African Air Forces Forum held in Lagos on Friday.

In the statement, the Minister emphasized that the partnership between the Ministry and the Nigerian Air Force is vital not only for protecting Nigeria’s airspace but also for unlocking long-term economic potential.

“The collaboration between our Ministry and the Nigerian Air Force is a powerful synergy,” Keyamo said. “We are not just protecting our skies – through this partnership, we are building an aviation ecosystem that will serve Nigeria for decades to come.”

Keyamo highlighted key focus areas of the partnership, including airspace security, aviation infrastructure development, and capacity building for aviation professionals. These efforts, he noted, are designed to promote both national security and economic growth.

“When we guarantee the safety of our skies, we don’t just protect our nation – we send a powerful message to the world,” he stated. “A secure airspace attracts tourists, boosts our hospitality industry, and ultimately increases aviation sector revenues that strengthen our GDP.”

The Minister also lauded the Nigerian Air Force for its professionalism and dedication, and called on international stakeholders to continue supporting Nigeria’s efforts to become a hub of aviation excellence in Africa.

The 4th African Air Forces Forum brought together top military and civilian aviation leaders from across the continent to explore collaborative solutions for advancing air power and aviation development.
