Members of the Female Professionals for Sanwo Olu, (FPS) have embarked on a door to door campaign for the all progressives congress (APC) ahead of the elections billed to hold in February.
The event which took place earlier in the week, was attended by women at all levels drawn from the various wards of the kosofe local government council area.
Convener of the group, Barrister Omowunmi Ogungbaibi while addressing the women at the event urged them to ensure that their votes count by voting only APC Candidates during the elections.
According to her, the Campaign comes in furtherance of the goals of the APC Independent Campaign Council (ICC) created to expand the support base of the APC Presidential flag bearer, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu as it adopts the door-to-door campaign and voters sensitization.
Also speaking at the event, Akinro Igbesanmi, director at the office of the Director General of the ICC urged the women to adopt the neighbor to neighbor campaign policy which provides the opportunity for one on one canvassing for better results.
The launch out of the women into the streets formed a major highpoint of the event as they appear resolute to take the campaign to every nook and crany of the city of Lagos.
Another highlight of the day’s event was the widow’s might session which saw the FPS Convener Barrister Omowunmi and her executive members reach out to widows amongst the women in a show of love and support earmarked for empowerment. A practice which according to her is synonymous with her NGO Hephzibarian Women Initiatives.
