The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested 12 suspected armed robbers allegedly involved in the killing of Arise News staff member, Somtochukwu Christella Maduagwu, and a security guard, Barnabas Danlami, during a robbery attack in Abuja.
According to a report published by Arise News on Thursday, the arrests followed a coordinated operation by the Scorpion Squad under the FCT Command, based on intelligence provided by Giga Forensics, a subsidiary of EIB STRATOC.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, was said to have ordered a manhunt for the suspects following the September 29, 2025, armed robbery incident at Unique Apartment in Gishiri Village, Katampe District, which occurred around 3:30 a.m.
A statement revealed that operatives of the Scorpion Squad, led by ACP Victor Godfrey, successfully arrested the suspects through actionable digital and reconstructive intelligence provided by Giga Forensics.

- Hassan Isah, 22 (Male) — Zaria, Kaduna State
- Abubakar Alkamu (a.k.a. Abba), 27 (Male) — Musawa LGA, Katsina State
- Sani Sirajo (a.k.a. Dan Borume), 20 (Male) — Malumfashi LGA, Katsina State
- Mashkur Jamilu (a.k.a. Abba), 28 (Male) — Igabi LGA, Kaduna State
- Suleiman Badamasi (a.k.a. Dan-Sule), 21 (Male) — Malumfashi LGA, Katsina State
- Abdul Salam Saleh (a.k.a. Na-Durudu) (Male) — Katsina LGA, Katsina State
- Zaharadeen Muhammad (a.k.a. Gwaska), 23 (Male) — Chikun LGA, Kaduna State
- Musa Adamu (a.k.a. Musa Hassan), 30 (Male) — Malumfashi LGA, Katsina State
- Sumayya Mohammed (a.k.a. Baby), 27 (Female) — Sammaka LGA, Kaduna State
- Isah Abdulrahman (a.k.a. Abbati), 25 (Male) — Zaria LGA, Kaduna State
- Musa Umar (a.k.a. Small), 31 (Male) — Maiduguri LGA, Borno State
The FCT Police Command noted that investigations are ongoing to recover additional weapons and identify any accomplices still at large.
The arrest brings renewed hope for justice following the tragic killing of Maduagwu and Danlami, whose deaths had sparked widespread outrage and renewed calls for improved security across the capital city.
