The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced designated locations for members of the public to obtain Go-Cashless cards as Nigeria moves toward mandatory digital payments in government operations.
In a statement issued on Friday, FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, outlined immediate access points nationwide.
“Members of the public can obtain their Go-Cashless cards at all FAAN commercial offices and access gates nationwide immediately,” Agbebire stated.
He added that the cards will also be available at selected branches of Fidelity Bank Plc beginning March 16, 2026.
The development supports a Federal Government directive requiring Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to transition to a fully cashless system.
The policy is aimed at improving transparency, reducing revenue leakages, and strengthening transaction tracking across public institutions.
FAAN reaffirmed its commitment to complying with the directive. The agency appealed to airport users and stakeholders for understanding and cooperation during the transition.
According to the statement, Go-Cashless cards will remain available beyond the March 1 deadline at designated collection points.
FAAN assured airport users that the transition will improve operational efficiency. The agency said the system will deliver faster, safer, and more convenient transactions across airports nationwide.
Industry observers note that the shift forms part of broader public sector reforms designed to modernise government revenue collection and enhance accountability.
With the rollout of the Go-Cashless cards, FAAN joins other MDAs in accelerating Nigeria’s digital payment adoption drive.
