The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has disbursed a total of N1.659 trillion as revenue generated in May 2025 to the Federal Government, state governments, and Local Government Areas (LGAs). The revenue distribution was finalized during the June 2025 FAAC meeting held in Abuja.
According to the official communiqué issued by FAAC, the N1.659 trillion total distributable revenue is composed of:
- 895 billion from distributable statutory revenue,
- 714 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT),
- 667 billion from Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), and
- 614 billion from exchange difference revenue.
The communiqué revealed that the total gross revenue available in May 2025 stood at N2.942 trillion. From this amount, N111.908 billion was deducted for the cost of collection, while transfers, interventions, and refunds accounted for N1.171 trillion.
In detail, gross statutory revenue amounted to N2.094 trillion, marking an increase of N10.023 billion from the N2.084 trillion received in April 2025. Additionally, gross VAT revenue totaled N742.820 billion, showing a notable rise of N100.555 billion compared to April’s N642.265 billion.
This continued upward trend in revenue collections reflects improvements in economic activity, enhanced tax compliance, and efficiency in revenue generation and collection mechanisms across various government sectors.
