Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives on Tuesday attempted to take over the Maitama residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in Abuja.

Eyewitnesses reported that the team, reportedly led by Folarin Dare, arrived in about five buses, heavily armed and wearing the EFCC’s signature red and black jackets. They reportedly barricaded the road leading to the property at No. 2 Koranakh Close, off Amazon Street, preventing any access to the residence.

The action is understood to be part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial improprieties linked to the former AGF. Authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the operation.
