Edo State Governor Okpebholo Announces Minor Cabinet Reshuffle to Boost Governance

Three key appointments aim to strengthen coordination and policy implementation in Edo State.

Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has approved minor changes to his cabinet as part of efforts to improve governance and administrative efficiency in the state.

A statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, revealed that the reshuffle involved three key appointments:

  • Vincent Osas Uwadiae has been redeployed from the Ministry of Oil and Gas Resources to the Ministry of Lands and Housing as Commissioner.

 

  • Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, the former Commissioner for Lands and Housing, has been appointed Chief of Staff to the Governor.

 

  • Gani Audu, the outgoing Chief of Staff, has been nominated as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, pending confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.

The changes take effect from January 30, 2026.

According to the statement, Governor Okpebholo expressed confidence that the adjustments would enhance coordination, improve policy implementation, and strengthen governance across Edo State.
