Dr. Veronica Mills, President and Executive Director of the International Young Leaders Foundation, has called on young people in West Africa and across the continent to take the lead in promoting Africa’s beauty and untapped tourism potential.
In a recent interview with AV1 News, Dr. Mills emphasized the need for youth in the tourism and travel sector to create unique products that appeal to intuitive and adventurous travelers, highlighting Africa as an essential destination.
She noted that tourism could significantly boost a country’s GDP if recognized as a key revenue-generating sector.
Dr. Mills also lauded Nigerian youth for their pioneering efforts in the tourism industry, stating that their innovative strides are shaping the sector positively.
Dr. Mills, an accomplished author and consultant, has written a book on Ghana’s tourism, which has been adopted by the Ghanaian government for use in secondary schools.
