DJ Cuppy Celebrates Nigeria at 65, Declares She’d Choose to Be Nigerian Again

Media personality DJ Cuppy has joined millions of Nigerians in marking the country’s 65th independence anniversary with a moving Instagram post, proudly affirming her deep connection to the nation.

In her message, Cuppy described Nigeria as her “birthplace,” “home,” and “country,” adding that if given another chance at life, she would still choose to be Nigerian. She praised the resilience and spirit of the people, noting their ability to persevere and find joy even in the face of challenges.

“God didn’t rush when He made us… He gave us resilience, spirit, and endless energy. In my next life, I’d still choose to be Nigerian,” she wrote.

This year’s tribute echoes her 2024 message when she called Nigeria her “superpower” and “piece of hope.” Cuppy stressed that being Nigerian remains central to her identity and brand, allowing her to carry a piece of the nation with her wherever she goes.

Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary was celebrated nationwide with parades, cultural displays, and a national broadcast by President Bola Tinubu, who urged citizens to unite in building a stronger and more prosperous country.
