US hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred to a low-security federal prison in New Jersey, where he will serve the remainder of his four-year, two-month sentence for prostitution-related offenses, according to a Federal Bureau of Prisons record released on Friday.
Combs is now being held at FCI Fort Dix, located about 130 kilometers south of New York City. The facility is known for its drug rehabilitation programs and houses inmates under less restrictive conditions compared to high-security prisons.
Combs’ legal team had requested his relocation to Fort Dix, where he is expected to remain until May 8, 2028, based on his projected release date.
The music producer was arrested in September 2024 and, in July 2025, was convicted on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution. However, the jury acquitted him of more severe charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, which carried significantly harsher penalties.
Before sentencing, Combs tearfully apologized in court, describing his actions as:
“Disgusting, shameful, and sick.”
He also issued apologies to his family and the victims involved.
Despite the conviction, Combs has appealed both the verdict and the sentence.
