Delta Air Lines Launches Fly Delta 7.0 App with Real-Time Updates and Expanded Loyalty Features

The redesigned app gives customers more control, convenience, and customization from booking to boarding.

Delta Air Lines has launched a major upgrade to its mobile platform with the release of Fly Delta 7.0, delivering a host of new self-service tools, real-time updates, and enhanced loyalty features to give users more control over their travel experience.

The latest version of the app, currently available for iOS users, was announced on Monday in a statement signed by Eric Phillips, Delta’s Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer. Features will continue to roll out throughout the summer.

“We are continuously improving the Fly Delta app to make it the ultimate travel companion,” said Phillips. “Later this year, we’ll introduce Delta Concierge, an AI-powered assistant offering personalized, human-like support across the travel journey.”

Key features in Fly Delta 7.0 include:

Real-time notifications for iPhone users (iOS 16+), including alerts for pre-boarding, gate closures, and in-flight progress via the lock screen and Dynamic Island.

Self-rebooking options during flight disruptions for domestic, nonstop trips — no need to wait in line or contact support.

Enhanced SkyMiles integration: Members can now link their Uber accounts directly in the app to earn miles on eligible rides and UberEats orders (U.S. only).

Starting June 1, Diamond and Platinum Medallion Members can redeem Choice Benefits and manage upgrade certificates directly within the app — a function previously limited to Delta’s website.

Upcoming features include alerts for missing travel documents and international entry requirements, simplifying planning for overseas trips.

Delta reports that 97% of SkyMiles Medallion members already use the Fly Delta app to manage their travel, with 85% using it throughout their journey.

The Fly Delta 7.0 update underscores Delta’s continued push to enhance the digital travel experience, with tools designed to offer more autonomy, faster service, and a personalized journey for each traveler.
