Dates Announced for the 8th Accra Weizo West African Travel Expo

Accra Weizo 2025 promises to reimagine seamless travel in West Africa with exciting events and networking opportunities.

Organizers of Accra Weizo, the premier West African Travel Fair, have officially announced the dates for the 8th edition of the highly anticipated event. The Accra Weizo Travel Expo is scheduled for Friday, 27th June 2025, in Accra, Ghana, with a special Road Trip Adventure running from 21st to 26th June.

The Road Trip will take travelers on an exciting journey through Nigeria, Benin, Togo, and Ghana, leading up to the Tour Operators Summit on the 27th, where the theme will be: “Re-Imagining the ECOWAS Free Movement Protocol.”

The Accra Weizo Travel Expo is a key event aimed at boosting travel and tourism across West Africa. It is organized by Akwaaba African Travel Market in collaboration with the Ghana Tourism Authority. The event’s focus is on improving seamless travel across the region, simplifying airport and border processes, standardizing hotel and tourism facilities, and connecting skilled service providers with global markets.

West Africa, home to over 400 million people, boasts a rich cultural heritage and a wealth of tourist attractions. However, it is one of the least-visited regions in Africa, despite generating the highest number of outbound travelers on the continent. The Accra Weizo Expo seeks to address this gap by creating a seamless travel environment that encourages West Africans to explore their own region.

In line with its goal of promoting regional tourism, Accra Weizo will also recognize the Top 100 travel companies that have significantly contributed to the growth of tourism in West Africa. Delegates from tourism boards, airlines, and hospitality industries are expected to attend.

Major highlights of the 8th edition will include a Conference, B2B networking opportunities, Fam Trips, Exhibitions, and the prestigious Balafon Awards, which honor pioneers and top players in the ECOWAS tourism sector.

This year’s event promises to be one of the most exciting yet, with delegates visiting key tourist attractions and experiencing the vibrant nightlife of Benin, Togo, and Ghana. Accra Weizo is open to all African Tour Operators, offering an exceptional platform for networking with the region’s leading tourism experts.

Past editions of the event have attracted high-profile dignitaries, including His Royal Highness, Nene Nagai Kassa VIII, Honourable Mike A. Gizo, Chief of Agomeda, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as High Commissioners and Ambassadors from countries like South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.
