Cubana Chief Priest Warns Tinubu Over Nnamdi Kanu’s Conviction

Socialite says Southeast political support may wane ahead of 2027 if IPOB leader remains in prison.

Popular socialite Cubana Chief Priest has issued a strong warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the conviction and sentencing of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Shortly after the Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced Kanu to life imprisonment, Cubana Chief Priest took to Instagram to caution that the President could face major political challenges in the South-East in the 2027 election if the IPOB leader remains in detention.

According to him, political tensions in the region have intensified, with many residents’ sentiments strongly tied to the outcome of Kanu’s case.

“President @officialasiwajubat As long as MNK remains in jail you cannot & will never get up to 10,000 votes in South-East come 2027… Only MNK release can save you,” he wrote in a lengthy post, expressing frustration and concern over dwindling support for the administration.

He also took aim at ministers from the South-East, accusing them of failing to represent the true situation to the President and lacking the political influence needed to win back public confidence.

Cubana Chief Priest further directed his criticism at Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, urging him to intervene and push for Kanu’s release. He warned that the governor’s achievements could be overshadowed if the matter is neglected.

“To My Father @he_hopeuzodimma… Appeal This Judgement & Get It Right Or Get Ready To Check Out Of The Villa Come 2027… Southeast Belongs To MNK,” he wrote.

The businessman’s comments have drawn widespread reactions online, reflecting the sensitivity surrounding Kanu’s case and its influence on political discourse in the region.
