Cristiano Ronaldo, captain and forward for Al-Nassr, has reportedly left Saudi Arabia for Madrid, Spain, following escalating tensions in the Middle East after United States-Israeli strikes in Iran.
According to a report by the Daily Mail on Tuesday, the 41-year-old football star departed Riyadh late at night aboard his £61 million ($81 million) Bombardier Global Express 6500 private jet.
Flight tracking platform Flightradar24 confirmed that the aircraft departed Riyadh at 8:00 p.m. and arrived in Madrid at nearly 1:00 a.m. The jet reportedly flew over Egypt and the Mediterranean during the journey.
Riyadh, where Ronaldo resides with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their five children, has recently experienced security concerns linked to the regional conflict.
Reports indicate that the United States Embassy in Riyadh was struck by two drones overnight. The Saudi Ministry of Defence confirmed that a limited fire broke out at the embassy, noting that the incident caused minor material damage.
In addition, Iranian state media reported that a command and staff building in Bahrain was destroyed amid the ongoing hostilities.
The developments follow United States-Israeli military strikes in Iran on February 28, 2026, which reportedly killed several Iranian leaders. Iranian state media confirmed on March 1 that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had been killed. Authorities in Iran subsequently declared 40 days of mourning and announced a seven-day national holiday.
Ronaldo has not publicly commented on his departure.
