Emerging digital creators walked away with major prizes, including a brand-new car valued at about N40 million and cash rewards totalling N11.5 million, at the grand finale of the Mikano Changan Creators Challenge held in Lagos.
The event, hosted at the Mikano Motors showroom, brought together industry leaders, digital creators, media professionals and entertainment personalities in celebration of Nigeria’s fast-growing content creation community.
At the centre of the spotlight was Chibundu Chisom, who emerged as the overall winner of the competition, clinching the grand prize of a brand new Changan CS35 from Mikano Motors.
For Chisom, the victory represented more than just a reward.
“This is a meaningful recognition of my creativity and a reminder that when given the right platform, creativity can truly open doors,” he said.
Organisers explained that the challenge was created to spotlight Nigeria’s expanding community of digital creators, offering them a platform to showcase their ideas while rewarding originality and innovation.
Participants were tasked with producing engaging content centered on Mikano Changan vehicles, turning everyday storytelling into compelling digital expressions.
Speaking at the event, the National Head of Operations at Mikano Motors, Syam Abdul Kadir, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the creative ecosystem.
He noted that creativity remains a powerful driver of growth and opportunity.
“The main aim of this initiative is to support creators in their creative journey and enable them to grow exponentially,” he said.
Beyond the grand prize, other winners also shared in the rewards. Princess Omusuku emerged as the first runner-up and received N3 million, while Oluwamayowa Philip finished as the second runner-up, going home with N1.5 million.
In addition, 14 other finalists were each awarded N500,000 in recognition of their effort and consistency throughout the competition.
The organisers said the selection process was overseen by a panel of respected judges, including comedian Bovi Ugboma, Doris Ogah and Chioma Ude, alongside other industry figures who evaluated entries based on creativity, storytelling and originality.
Also present at the event were popular actresses Jemima Osunde, KieKie and Rita Dominic, as well as music star Patrick The Bassist, highlighting the growing collaboration within Nigeria’s creative industry.
Reflecting on his win, Chisom described the competition as a turning point in his career and encouraged other creators to remain committed to their craft.
“Mikano’s support has shown that there are real opportunities for creators who stay consistent,” he added.
